Montoya Loses Bricks

For the second year in a row, Juan Pablo Montoya has dominated the brickyard 400 only to have victory snatched from him. I don\'t know who felt worse, Brian Patty, Juan or myself. I have been routng for this guy for 4 years now with nothing to cheer about. It is all disappointment. Montoya just can\'t get a grip on this formula of racing. Not even on the road courses. I wish he would return to open wheel where he can push as hard as he wants and win some races. He is throwing away his career in NASCAR.

What he has accomplished in racing is very rare. To win the Indy 500 in a rental car was amazing. He won Monaco in F1. I know he likes NASCAR because it is not the back stabbing environment of F1. But it isn\'t his formula. Heavy car with narrow tires does not suit him. He is aggressive by nature.

It must really hurt to have a bacjup driver that was fired come in as a teamate and win the 2 biggest races in NASCAR in the same year. Obviously the Earnhart Ganassi cars are very competitive. Now if there s such a thing as luck, well Juan doesn\'t have any of the good kind. He should have been champion last year. He has a pedigree not seen in many years behind the wheel of a nascar. But his resume didn\'t translate to success in these cars. Thats why we run the races. For me though, I can\'t watch anymore.
